چکیده

Species in the genus Phytophthora cause significant economic losses crops and damage to forests natural ecosystems worldwide. Currently, phosphite is most effective chemical for disease management, but excessive concentrations can result phytotoxicity plants development of tolerance by pathogen. Two newly developed metal chelates (alone combination) were tested their vitro planta efficacy against cinnamomi. In glasshouse trials, 0.25% 0.5% each treatment (phosphite, Ca chelate, Zn chelate) chelate + used as a foliar application on 3-month-old seedlings Banksia grandis (experiment not repeated) Eucalyptus marginata, prior inoculation with P. All noninoculated control remained healthy, while root reduction dry weights observed inoculated untreated plants. Individually, significantly reduced lesion cinnamomi compared control, attaining superior results at same concentration. combination, had largest both plant species; however, this has yet been replicated did reflect previous results. The applications effective. potential be fungicide species.

Efficacy of Chaetomium Species as Biological Control Agents against Phytophthora nicotianae Root Rot in Citrus

Thailand is one of the largest citrus producers in Southeast Asia. Pathogenic infection by Phytophthora, however, has become one of major impediments to production. This study identified a pathogenic oomycete isolated from rotted roots of pomelo (Citrus maxima) in Thailand as Phytophthora nicotianae by the internal transcribed spacer ribosomal DNA sequence analysis. Then, we examined the in vit...

Citrus Seedling Growth and Susceptibility to Root Rot as Affected by Phosphite and Phosphate

The growth of ‘Ridge Pineapple’ sweet orange [Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck] seedlings and their susceptibility to Phytophthora root rot were studied under contrasting supplies of phosphate (Pi) or Phosphite (Phi). After 10 weeks of repeated applications of nutrient solutions, Phi concentrations were barely detectable in soil. Soil Pi was higher in Phi treatments than in pots that received Pi alo...

Management of Phytophthora Root and Runner Rot in Cranberry

Phytophthora is a genus of plant pathogens, many species of which live in water or soil. The name means “plant destroyer” in Greek. Phytophthora species are common pathogens in agricultural systems, especially in those where the crop is irrigated with surface or recycled water. In cranberry culture, the most troublesome species is P. cinnamomi, the cinnamon fungus. This pathogen causes a very c...

A Definitive Test to Determine Whether Phosphite Fertilization Can Replace Phosphate Fertilization to Supply P in the Metabolism of 'Hass' on 'Duke 7' (A Preliminary Report)

Phytophthora root rot causes extensive damage to feeder roots of avocado. If uncontrolled, it results in a progressive decline in tree health and the eventual death of the tree (12, 14, 15). Phytophthora root rot is a major factor limiting avocado production world wide. Effective control of Phytophthora root rot of avocado has been achieved with fosetyl-al (Aliette® Rhone-Poulenc, aluminum tris...
